Green schools must operate in tandem with green curriculum. It is not enough for architects and builders to design and construct green schools: when teachers and staff are engaged in the process, buildings can achieve a higher threshold of energy efficiency at much lower costs. Similarly, teachers and facility operators can work together to operate conventional buildings in much greener ways. When properly executed, incorporating environmental awareness principles into education both reduces costs and enhances education.
