  School district are always looking for opportunities to make their faclities for energy efficient but often don't have the funds to undertake such improvements. ESIPs, authorized into law in early 2009, allow school districts to undertake "off balance sheet financing" by having the energy conservation measures pay for the costs of financing them, thus avoiding the need for a school district to obtain voter approval to authorze bonds for this purpose. The seminar will include an attorney, energy services company representative, and financial advisor that have completed two of these ESIPs for New Jersey school districts.
